Specificied mpd database file doesn't grow despite library growing

Hi,

I recently decided on (at least trying) mpd as my solution for mangaging my remote (Google drive rclone crypt mounted) music library.

After over 8 hours it's successfully loaded just under 4000 songs of a 15000+ collection (as deteremined from running the mpc listall command).

However, the database file specified in the config is still only just 376 bytes - could I get some pointers as to why this may be the case? I know that the config is being read correctly, because I had some false starts after changing the rclone mounted directory and the library wouldn't update, and after changing the path in this config, it started updated correctly again.
