Xfce Trash Applet on panel sometimes fails to connect to the trash

Hello,

I'm using xfce4 with Thunar as my file manager, I have the default Trash Applet on my panel for easy access to the trash.
Sometimes, but more often than not, the Trash Applet fails to connect/load properly, giving me this error message:

Failed to connect to the Trash: Error calling StartServiceByName for org.xfce.FileManager: Timeout was reached.

Both Thunar and the trash, accessed from the file manager, work fine.

I tried this solution from the wiki, but it didn't help. A search in the forum and other places unfortunately didn't turn up anything useful.

Any ideas?
