wifi not always connecting on boot

If the error message shown herewith occurs on booting Arch, there is no wifi connection (though it can be  started  manually).  When it does not appear wifi is connected automatically on boot.  If only half the message appears, then sometimes wifi may be connected automatically and sometimes not.

Researching it I have not found an explanation for this erratic behavior.  Can anyone suggest a clue?

I am using Arch 5.3.7 kept updated, but the computer is a relatively old one HPCompaq 6910p.

Re: wifi not always connecting on boot

Hey,

That's a strange behavior, here are a few random thoughts at 5am:

  • Since it seems to work when started manually, i'd try delaying it's start a little bit to see if it helps.

  • You could just start it automatically via a bash script mimicking the way you start it manually, no reason this shouldn't work.

  • Was there a point where it was working perfectly ? maybe it's worth building an older version of that driver.

  • You can find similar behaviors reported online by googling part of the logs you get, some people seems to make it work by tweaking the configuration a little, might be worth trying.

Have a good day!

Carefully explaining your problem is half the solution.
