Wired colors with xsane on MF3110 multifunction printer

I got a multi function printer from my parents Canon MF3110, and I got the printing to work fine with CUPS and system-config-printer. But the built-in scanner gives me wierd colors with sane/xsane. The image is supposed to be the black and white test print page but I get extra cyan or green colors, sometimes magenta as well. The placement of the extra colors seem to be related to a straight line where there is black content in the image. When I use the printer to copy the page without a computer everything looks okay. Any suggestions on how to tweak the scanning settings/drivers or similar?

$ scanimage --format=png --device="pixma:04A92660_2149N2112281" --output-file test.png --progress
