Expressvpn issues

I'm having an issue with the expressvpn package. On a fresh boot everything works fine. If I disconnect expressvpn the wifi reconnects automatically. The problem arises when I go into sleep mode while expressvpn is connect. When it wakes up everything seems fine, Wifi is connected and expressvpn is connected, but I have no Internet connection and cant ping anything. The only way to fix it is to restart networkmanager. Has anyone ran into this problem or doe anyone have any ideas? Any help is appreciated.
