Have you posted a comment for the maintainer? Did you try the 0.17 release, or the CVS build?

Not the best choice - it was submitted nearly 18 months ago, and I have a feeling quaqo, the maintainer, might not be around anymore.

Try whargoul's cvs build - it's more up-to-date, and it's been flagged safe.
