Hello Arch Forums,
I'm trying to run pavucontrol but get this error message:
This never used to happen before. I used to just execute
$ pulseaudio --start
and go back to pavucontrol, which made it work correctly. I receive this error message when trying to run the command above:
When running with sudo, I get this:
and pavucontrol works ONLY if I precede sudo before running the command.
I'm not sure how this happened as it worked fine yesterday. I've tried restarting my system, looking at the ArchWiki for a page on this problem, and even reinstalling pulseaudio and pavucontrol, but nothing works.
Also, because I'm not really sure if this is a problem connected to pulseaudio or not, but now my xbindkeys configuration doesn't run my volume bindings anymore, but it does with my backlight bindings. My .xbindkeysrc is this:
As I'm relatively new to Arch still, I'm still quite not sure how things like pulseaudio works as I used to use distros like Mint, Antergos, and Manjaro before the move to Arch, so any help with fixing the problem and maybe some help on enabling pulseaudio to run at boot or something would be appreciated immensely!
Thanks,
Samaritan

Please replace the oversized images w/ thumbnails and/or links (200*200px max)
Also don't ever post images of text, post the text (use code tags for eg. the xinitrc contents, shell output etc. to make things more readable)
You wanted to have read https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … ow_to_post
There seems to be a permission issue w/ at least ~/.config/pulse, output of
ls -l ~/.config/pulse
?
