Problem about OpenBox

Hey AF!

I'm trying for the first time to install Openbox, and have som question about this.
The reason - I have build a mediacenter, and want the less CPU power to be used with the windowmanager.

I have read the wiki page about openbox, but do not understand something.
How is it possible to run Openbox without KDE or Gnome! - well use the xinitrc - and from what I could read - startx from commandline? Is this correct or can anyone help me getting the rigth understanding about this.

Becaurse - what I want in the end - just a windows manager that starts up during boot with a possibillity to enter into MythTV using a Icon on the desktop!
How do I do that?

Thanks

Re: Problem about OpenBox

The one from the package database.

Thatś the first time I'm using it - an after what I can see - it should be straight out the window - But well again - thatś not my strong side.

Re: Problem about OpenBox

Well - I know what mythTV is and have used it for several times - but I would also like something else from the same machine!

that´s why I would like openbox instead of KDE

Re: Problem about OpenBox

Well - Still trying and having some problems about the MythTV Part - Got it all to work,  but having a problem about playing DVDs from mythtv - They're lacking as hell -  But I guess it has something to do about the Graphics driver. Its a Nvidia chip set, and have set the rigth driver in xor.conf - But nope - thats not the solution of my problem ????

So any help are welcome!
