Color contrast in KDE windows

I installed KDE plasma in a machine where GNOME was installed and the text in some kde windows does not look right:

Black text on dark background. Can someone please confirm that this is not how it is supposed to look? Also, what setting should I change to get a normal contrast?

Actually even the main System Settings window is messed up:

I tried with different color schemes but all had the same problem. My current configuration is:
- global theme: breeze dark
- plasma style: breeze-dark
- application style: breeze (there isn't the "dark" option for this dialog)
- colors: breeze dark
