AIGLX, Compiz and such... current status is!?

Well, most of what I see around here (the forums, AUR) is about XGL (and/or often out-of-date)

But now that we have Xorg 7.1 in [current], so AIGLX needs just to be enabled, what have I to do to have compiz working with xorg+aiglx?

What is the current status?

Did anybody get compiz to work with aiglx? If so, what do he did?

Please, let's make the point of situation today, for me and for others

The system freezes completely when I launch it (the only thing alive is the caps-lock led :?)

Is cairo-git still needed? (I didn't build it because the package in current is newer than the one in the tarball, if I'm not wrong)

i don't know why...but i start compiz using this "compiz --indirect-rendering --strict-binding --replace gconf" and then "cgwd --replace"

IIRC, --indirect-rendering is required for it to work properly with AIGLX.

try FC6 tes3, aiglx and compiz are default setup.

I have the same issue,
arch xorg-server 1.1.1-2 [current]
aur compiz
xorg is configured for AIGLX, my card is a i810
when I launch compiz, system freeze. If I kill compiz, system go back.

eheh...because you must install compiz patched for aiglx

I think that compiz package in aur should work with AIGLX, because it's the ubuntu compiz package and ubuntu's compiz works with AIGLX.
here is my compiz output :

I'd also like to hear if anyone has got AIGLX/Compiz working on Arch 64, I tried a few days ago but failed miserably - mostly freezing whenever I tried to start compiz. Anyway, any advice would be great.

It works now !
I just installed these packages from AUR :
compiz
compiz-plugins
cgwd (not necessary)
and my xorg.conf is configured for AIGLX

I launch compiz by this command :
dbus-launch compiz-start

An other way : use compiz-aiglx package :

How can I solve?

but now, when I start gnome-compiz-aiglx, decorations are missing. Have I to do something?

you have to do compiz --indirect-rendering --strict-binding --replace gconf

@Razer(x): gnome-compiz-aiglx already starts compiz in that way.
@fredp: Please look at the Wiki. It seems there is something wrong in your gconf keys.
