NAD HP70 headphones, no audio on PulseAudio, works with ALSA

Hi everyone!

I'm having an issue with my brand new fantastic NAD HP70 headphones, which can work both via Bluetooth and USB. I like to use them via USB cable on the desktop becauase quality is a touch better and it charges them.

When I plug them in via USB, I can kill pulseaudio and run speaker-test and they work fine.

When I use pulseaudio, everything looks fine in pavucontrol- NAD-USB outputs are displayed and the meter says there is sound, but I can't hear any. Even stranger- sometimes it works, but it's unpredictable.

Can you help me troubleshoot this? Thanks!

Carlo

Post

sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*
aplay -lL
amixer -c$inset card index from aplay -l$
pacmd list-cards
pacmd list-sinks
pacmd list-sink-inputs

during active playback attempt.
