Evolution will not Authenticate gmail

Hi Guys,

Just installed Evolution as I want to use as my email client. I installed with the stock gmail option, but am having trouble with the authentication part.

When I try to receive email the 1st time after installation, it pops up a box asking for my gmail account, I select my account, I click on the "Next" button, and instead of putting up a window asking for my password, it immediately goes to "Something went wrong" window .. and the cycle repeats ..

(The reported error was “Failed to authenticate: OAuth2 secret not found”)

I have setup my google accounts correctly for 3rd part access, as Thunderbird works (just don't like it).

Any logs anywhere I can have a look at ?

Any idea's ..

Thanks, I had seen that .... bother! ..

I have had recent issues with Thunderbird as well, so have un-installed it ..
Also, even web gmail is having issues at times ... I don't know what google is playing at ...

Google is completely overhauling it's services we may not be out of the woods soon
Though, I haven't seen problems using the web services which you mention, even with 2FA, it always works..

If you need a solution that still works have a look at claws-mail, I use it and it works, at least for now..

BTW. did you try any of the solutions posted by users following the links from Reddit and deeper?, there may be one that works for you;)

Thanks. I will try Claws mail .... no, did not have success with the link mentioned ..

Regarding the web mail, I had to clear out cache to get it to work again ..

(PS: what is 2FA?)
