Setting DNS address when using DHCP

How can I set my DNS addresses manually when using DHCP? The only thing I could find when googling was adding a line to /etc/dhcp3/dhclient.conf, but that file does not seem to exist on my computer.

Re: Setting DNS address when using DHCP

Hi and welcome! wink

It's /etc/conf.d/dhcpcd. See 'man dhcpcd' for options.

Re: Setting DNS address when using DHCP

Ok, so I edited /etc/conf.d/dhcpcd so that it contains 'DHCPCD_ARGS="-t 30 -h $HOSTNAME -R"' and then just used /etc/resolv.conf as with a static ip. It works perfectly. Thanks a lot! big_smile
