Hello,
I have an older Asus laptop. With last update of VirtualBox to 6.1 it stop working. When I open virtual machine I get this message: VT-x is not available (VERR_VMX_NO_VMX).
From many web pages I found out that I have to downgrade Virtualbox (sadly I removed Pacman cache...).
I downloaded older version of VB from: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Download_Old_Builds_5_2 (link "sources"), but I am not able to install it.
I tried install some versions from AUR but did not work.
Could you please give me some advice how to continue?
Many thanks.
Tomas

Hi,
thanks for reply, but there is not older version than 6.X (https://archive.archlinux.org/packages/v/virtualbox/).

You did try https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/virtualbox-bin-5/ ?
That version doesn't seem to work with kernel 5.4.x , you could try linux-lts or applying the patch mentioned in bziurs comment.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
(A works at time B) && (time C > time B ) ≠ (A works at time C)

Older package versions are moved to archive.org for example https://archive.org/download/archlinux_pkg_virtualbox
If you follow Arch_Linux_Archive#How_to_restore_all_packages_to_a_specific_date redirects to archive.org will be handled automatically.
