I installed a new SSD-drive to my computer and it's formatted as NTFS.
I'm having trouble getting Steam games to launch if they're installed on it.
After pressing "Play" in my Steam Library nothing happens.
I've tried different proton versions from game's properties in Steam, but with no avail.
I have had some games installed on the same drive and partition as Arch is, and they worked great.
An example of this is the game Noita, I had it installed initially on my Arch partition and deleted it because I wanted to install it on my new drive.
Upon trying to launch the game the same thing happens as for every other game on that drive, nothing.
I set a fstab entry for the drive as follows:
/dev/sdc1 /mnt/ssd2 ntfs-3g defaults 0 0Output of
lsblk:NAME MAJ:MIN RM SIZE RO TYPE MOUNTPOINT

Did you install ntfs-3g?
Assuming you did, what have you tried, so far, to resolve the issue?
You might consider allowing us to see a journal from a problematical boot.
Dont forget to use [ code ] tags.

ntfs-3g is installed.
I've been reading on how to troubleshoot Steam, but haven't made much progress in the trouble solving part of it.
I launched Steam through my terminal and around this part of the output I launched a game:

What are the permissions on the mount point ? Post
mount
ls -l $ntfsmountpointFWIW this works just fine with permissions properly set to my user here.

@V1del
I think that's what is being discussed here.

Pretty much yes, change the defaults to uid and gid of your user in these mount options (and sorry that I didn't actually catch on to that despite this already being in your OP).

Replacing "defaults" with my UID and GID in /etc/fstab fixed the issue.
Thank you very much for your help!
Marking the thread as solved.
