[SOLVED] Icons/Characters displayed as "boxes" in GIMP

Hi everybody,

I'm having this issue since a while now and I can't seem to find a fix for it.
The issue is, that all the character and icons in the menu and toolbar of GIMP are displayed as boxes.
The same problem occurs when using arandr. These are the only applications I encountered the problem so far.

I couldn't find anybody having the same problem, so if somebody could help me with that, I'd be very glad.

You are late

Pango has dropped support for old bitmap fonts, fix your GTK2 configuration to not use bitmap fonts and/or install otb replacements for the fonts you want to use.
