DVDStyler Error

I'm getting the following error when trying to create the ISO in DVDStyler:

Error executing of command: dvdauthor -o "/home/cconover/.dvd/" -x "/home/cconover/.dvd/dvdauthor.xml"

I'm not sure how to resolve this. Does DVDStyler keep an error log?

Here's the full text output during the ISO creation process: http://pastebin.ca/174659

Re: DVDStyler Error

I have had problems like this in the past and recompiling dvdauthor seemed to do the trick, maybe worth a try.

Re: DVDStyler Error

I got dvdauthor from the AUR, do/have you used that one?

Re: DVDStyler Error

The pkgbuild is the same as the one in AUR/Community

Re: DVDStyler Error

I just downloaded the source from the dvdauthor project page and compiled it myself.  I'm gonna see if that fixes it.

Re: DVDStyler Error

From the output It looks like its choking on a file that should be in
/usr/share/dvdstyler/ namely empty.mpg.  My suggestion would be grab the source code, unpack it and put empty.mpg back where it belongs.

Good luck

Re: DVDStyler Error

Compiling it myself didn't fix it.  I'm wondering if it's not that dvdauthor is not working, but that the way my videos are encoded is wrong.  I encoded them using VLC's stream feature, since I had trouble with AVIDemux (it would crash on certain videos, not sure why) but I'm thinking that even though DVDStyler didn't reject the videos as incompatible, there may still be a problem with the coding.  Which program do you use to convert your videos to DVD-compatible MPEG-2?

Re: DVDStyler Error

actually empty.mpg is there and has been processed properly - I posted a thread elsewhere that the package built from AUR does not contain this file, which can cause problem if there is no vmMenu. It seems more like there is some problem with the audio

WARN: Discontinuity in audio channel 8; please remultiplex input.

is repeated several times, hinting that the source file might be bad.

I always follow the guidelines here on preparing dvd video and it hasn't failed me yet.
