Why printing at boot?

Hello there my question is a bit funny....

From the day i installed arch while arch is booting and every time its booting after starting udev my printer prints a page with the letter α  sad  sad  sad

Is there any way to get rid of this problem except unpluging my printer?

Re: Why printing at boot?

This is a strange problem. I suppose you could try not loading modules for printing until you need them.

Re: Why printing at boot?

I have to admit, I laughed when I read this problem - I like funny problems like this.

I would suggest what iBertus said.  blacklist your printer module via MODULES=(....... !my-printer-module ....) and then boot, once you're booted, manually modprobe your printer module and see what happens.  If it still prints, it might be a stray udev rule...

Haha, this is indeed a funny problem. I wonder what the solution/culprit is.

Re: Why printing at boot?

Are you trying to run 'make xconfig' in console?

xconfig has to be run in X.

In the console, try 'make menuconfig'.
