Re: php not work

You have to tell Apache to use the PHP-module in its config file. Check this Wiki-page out.

On my desk I have a workstation.

Re: php not work

are you sure you installed php?

also, (if php is installed or it still doesn't werk after installing it..)

pacman -S php

open a terminal (gnome-terminal, ...) and exec

httpd -k start

or if apache is already running

httpd -k restart

it should start without errors, otherwise post the errors...

Re: php not work

#
# This is the main Apache HTTP server configuration file.  It contains the
# configuration directives that give the server its instructions.
# See <URL> for detailed information.
# In particular, see
# <URL>
# for a discussion of each configuration directive.
#
# Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding
# what they do.  They're here only as hints or reminders.  If you are unsure
# consult the online docs. You have been warned.
#
# Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many
# of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the
# server will use that explicit path.  If the filenames do *not* begin
# with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "/var/log/httpd/foo.log"
# with ServerRoot set to "@@ServerRoot@@" will be interpreted by the
# server as "@@ServerRoot@@//var/log/httpd/foo.log".

#
# ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's
# configuration, error, and log files are kept.
#
# Do not add a slash at the end of the directory path.  If you point
# ServerRoot at a non-local disk, be sure to point the LockFile directive
# at a local disk.  If you wish to share the same ServerRoot for multiple
# httpd daemons, you will need to change at least LockFile and PidFile.
#
ServerRoot "/etc/httpd"

#
# Listen: Allows you to bind Apache to specific IP addresses and/or
# ports, instead of the default. See also the <VirtualHost>
# directive.
#
# Change this to Listen on specific IP addresses as shown below to
# prevent Apache from glomming onto all bound IP addresses.
#
#Listen 12.34.56.78:80
Listen 80

# Statically compiled modules (those listed by `httpd -l') do not need
# to be loaded here.

Re: php not work

A quick inspection of your config file seems to indicate that you should be able to run php files.
A couple of things that you do no state but may be part of the problem:
1. you should have your web files in /home/your_login/public_html
2. If you go to localhost yo will see the apache (server is OK) message, but you should be pointing your browser to http://localhost/~your_login/

Try those things and see if it works.

R

Re: php not work

this is very strange indeed...
only thing i can think of is...

to uninstall apache, then reinstall it..

pacman -R apache && rm -R /etc/httpd

then

pacman -S apache

after that, edit httpd.conf and uncomment only the line for Load php module and see what happens..

Re: php not work

the user nobody is a valid user in Linux/Unix and has virtually no powers, and it is the default user for Apache server, leave it as it was:

User nobody
Group nobody

then try again what I explained before.

You probably don't have a DNS-server on your LAN. Try adding a line to your /etc/hosts

192.168.1.14 <hostname>.<domain> <hostname>

Replace appropriately.
