I notice that I am getting a pop-up notification every time I open Dolphin, Kate but apps open. Gwenview, for example, is not opening.
When I open dolphin or kate via terminal I get this message:
kf5.kio.core: "The process for the tags protocol died unexpectedly."I am not sure after which package update this started to happen.
Any help would be appreciated.

If you recently updated your plasma packages you have to terminate your current plasma session and launch new one.

Thanks for the reply. This problem is here for 2-3 days. I rebooted meanwhile but the problem is still here. After every login, I get 2 instant crash notification with the same crash information as shown and every time I start dolphin or kate I get the same. I am digging for 2 days but without success.

Update still have an issue, I tried to downgrade baloo and kio but still getting crash notification

Good point, I just tried and there is no crash notification. Thank you a lot, I will start digging a new hole from here...
I guess I have to reset my KDE but does that mean I have to configure my desktop look and feel again?
Can you give me some guidelines where to search for misconfiguration instead of just reset KDE settings?

The problem is in your baloo database, you only need to reset that

Got it, thank you so much. I knew that is something related to baloo and indexing but totally forgot to reset DB.
Delete folder ~.local/share/baloo/ solved this problem.
