lightdm fails to start due to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf

hello fellow linux users, i come to you in a time of great need.
So i installed awesome wm and played around for a bit (created configuration files in my home directory) and decided to log off. After clicking the log off button, the screen said: /dev/sda1: clean, xxxxx/xxxxx files, xxxx/xxxxx blocks.
So i waited for about an hour and came back. It still was stuck on this message, so i decided to turn the computer off and back on again (i know, that was stupid of me)
When computer booted up again, it stopped the boot proccess on the same message.

For clarification, i used my system for a few months without any problems on xfce. I also logged in awesome wm a few times and my arch linux broke only after i logged off awesome wm after fooling around with shortcuts and my home directory. If i remember correctly, i think i closed any open files in my terminals before logging off and firefox was still open. I also use mesa and have an Nvidia card, if that helps. I also tried doing pacman -Syyyuyyuyuyuyu to fix my issue on tty2.

i posted all the above to www.linux.org and haven't had an answer, here is the link(remember, there are two pages in this thread):
https://www.linux.org/threads/boot-stuc … ean.27627/

can someone help me pls?

Re: lightdm fails to start due to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Please correct the title of your post your system is not stuck on boot,  lightdm fails to start due to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf.

Edit:
Where did you get the following from

pacman -Syyyuyyuyuyuyu

When posting journal contents please do not use the -x option https://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/ … 13029.html
systemd rescue.service calls plymouth if it is installed,  not finding plymouth is not an error.
How is gufw related to the issue?

Re: lightdm fails to start due to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Update your system again, that bug reads like the AVX2 issue that got fixed.

And use [ code ] [ /code ] tags without the spaces to post command outputs/files.

Edit:
Where did you get the following from

pacman -Syyyuyyuyuyuyu

umm, idk, i just find this funny.

It simplifies to

pacman -Syyuu

It puts more load on the server by not trusting the database timestamps and can lead to partial updates as if the mirror was broken you are ignoring timestamps and allowing packages to be downgraded.
