hello,
I'm trying to set up mutt to send mail with my nerdshack.com account, but i just can't get it to work. mutt says:
msmtp: the server sent an empty reply
msmtp: could not send mail (account default from /home/oin/.msmtprc)
and my .msmtprc looks like this:
account default
host mail.nerdshack.com
port 465
protocol smtp
auth on
from spam?@nerdshack.com
user spam?
password password
tls on
tls_starttls on
everything else works fine, i actually first tried it on my gmail account and i could send and receive emails, but when i tried using reconfiguring everything to use nerdshack, it didn't work anymore.
there's also nothing wrong with nerdshack, because thunderbird works fine
there's some info on the nerdshack page, it says:
What encryption standards do you support?
We support encrypted sessions for incoming mail over port 110 using STARTTLS, and over port 995 using SSL. For outgoing SMTP sessions we support the use of STARTTLS, and SMTP over SSL on port 465. Our certificate has been issued by the Comodo Group.
does anybody have any ideas?
In Linux there are no secrets!
