Software to organize video collection

I am looking for something to help organize my personal video collection. Is there something that can scan a folder tree of videos and make some sort of index where it samples and extracts a few screens and allows you to assign keywords? Google is failing me.

What kind of videos? If it's a library of shows and movies, you can try tinymediamanger. It's tailored to create a library that is compatible with XBMC/Kodi.

They are not shows and movies. Mostly iphone videos of family stuff.
