How to fix the firefox file dialog in KDE Plasma?

Hello everybody!

After switching to KDE plasma for about half a year now I have not been able to make firefox use the KDE File dialog for opening and saving files. Since the nautilus file dialog shows smaller symbols and sorts file/folders in a different way this turns out to be quite disruptive to my workflow. I like to fix it.

What I have done:

> xdg-mime query default inode/directory
> org.kde.dolphin.desktop

Also I added

GTK_USE_PORTAL=1 to .profile

This hasn't changed the firefox behaviour.

So I copied "firefox.desktop" from "/usr/share/applications" to "~/.local/share/applications" and edited all three "Exec"-lines adding "GTK_USE_PORTAL=1" before the firefox binary's path.

Still the file opening behaviour hasn't changed yet.

The packages "firefox-extension-plasma-integration", "xdg-desktop-portal" and "xdg-desktop-portal-kde" are installed.

Still this doesn't work.

Can anyone help me here?

thx, p.

p.s.: I know there is a firefox-opensuse package in the aur but I would really like to avoid that one, as it quite often is several versions behind...
