Sound on Dell XPS 15 9570

Hi,

I am a big fan of Arch Linux it's a great software which taught me so much, the almighty arch wiki was of tremendous help https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Dell_XPS_15_9570 and helped me to resolve most of the issues I had. I gave up the idea of having adobe suite on Linux, and sort of moved full time on my main machine to i3 + arch and never looked back, but my laptop has one particular problem that I can't seem to resolve. I cannot move away from Windows completely, and the reason is the sound.

The sound works out of the box, but that is not the problem. On Windows, there is a software called MaxxAudioPro which somehow makes the sound so much better when watching youtube and movies: it is louder, has more bass, even voice is clearer.

I tried installing various sound mixers that I found on https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PulseAudio but never managed to get it to anywhere near to the sound of MaxxAudioPro, if anyone of you has a similar laptop and you managed to resolve this issue, would you be kind enough to share information on how you did it?

None of these are objective characteristics so this is likely quite hard to give suggestions on. You will have to experiment with the various options you have available.

Install pulseeffects and it's optional dependencies, it has a vast amount of settings for enhancing and applying equalizing effects to your audio. There is a loudness and a bass enhancer, voice is likely harder to properly define. At the and of the day that's all that application does as well, it just applies a variety of software filters to enhance what you hear, you might be able to find presets that are tuned to sound similar to what it does, in other cases you simply have to experiment.

I cannot move away from Windows completely, and the reason is the sound.
