High power consumption playing videos altough using chromium vaapi

Hello,

I had trouble with poor battery life when watching videos in browser, so I installed chromium va-api to make use of hardware accelertation. In video playback I can see,
that the used video decoder is MojoVideoDecoder so the hardware acceleration is working (see https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ch … celeration)

Also the cpu usage is pretty low (around 10%) while watching videos. But the power consumption is nontheless poor (around 16W in full screen brightness, 1080p60fps, which gives me around 2,5h batterylife).

I made the same test in Windows 10, also using hardware acceleration, and under the same circumstances and the power consumption is significantly lower (around 8W which gives me a battery life of over 4 hours)

I have a i5 8250U and an Nvidia MX150 graphics chip and my notebook runs using Nvidia Prime.

Thanks for your help!
