pacman -Syu didn't work

hello

i had a problem after i did pacman -Syu

apparently everything went out normal but after i reboot i notice that nothing was updated i still had all the old packages so i cheked /var/lib/pacman/local and it listed the old versions but extra had the new ones for example kde

in local

after the update i did a pacman -Scc because i got an integrity error, could that be the cause??

If there is an integrity error, nothing is updated.

To solve it, remove the files that cause the problem manually from /var/cache/pacman/pkg/ and then try again. If you do -Scc, then you have to download everything again.

To solve it, remove the files that cause the problem manually from /var/cache/pacman/pkg/ and then try again

is the correct way
to achieve it you should have run
rm /var/cache/pacman/pkg/problem.pkg.tar.gz
then re run
pacman -Syu
to redownload that package it got corrupt from the server to your pc or the wrong .md5 got put in
the -f option just forces it even if it is corrupt if it is corrupt its gonna cause you problems maybe even hours or days of beating your head against a wall trying to figure out the problem only use the -f option if your sure thats what you want

thxs for the advice, i did a pacman -Scc before trying to update again the system, i used  -Sfyu because some configuration files had been updated so in order to overwrite them i used the -f option
