Nvidia Optimus Laptop Can't Use Nvidia GPU

I've installed the Nvidia driver, isn't it supposed to support optimus now? I have latest version from Arch repo.

When I try to run nvidia-settings console returns:

$ nvidia-settings

ERROR: Unable to find display on any available system

$ lspci | grep VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 06)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GK104M [GeForce GTX 870M] (rev a1)

I'm running Gnome.

Did you read the Wiki?

There are five different methods to set it up. I personally recommend
"PRIME render offload" or "optimus-manager." I definitely do not
recommend "Bumblebee."

Anyway, you need to pick a method and set it up yourself.

I've been trying to follow the wiki, now apparently I broke my install, on boot I get a blank screen with a solid underscore in the top left and unable to switch tty.

And I agree, I don't want to use Bumblebee, that's why I left Manjaro.

It would be helpful to know which method you chose and what steps you
took. Right now, it is impossible to help you.

I'm not even certain at this point as I've been trying to troubleshoot it myself, but I was aiming to follow PRIME render offload. The last thing I did was disable wayland for gnome.
