Video playback freeze when in non-fullscreen mode on i3/Xorg

Hi everyone, I'm experiencing some troubles when running (local) video files in non-full-screen mode on i3/Xorg: when I open a video file with mpv/vlc/ffplay in full-screen mode everything works flawlessly, but in i3 normal/floating mode the video freezes on the same 3/4 fps (the audio continue without any stuttering), here a demonstrative video:

Since everything works flawlessly in full screen mode I don't think it's something specifically related to my config:
- I have two fairly new GPU (Intel UHD/Radeon 550X) with updated drivers
- I have installed hardware video acceleration libraries for both my GPU and nonetheless this problem show up in every possible scenario (Intel Acceleration on, Intel Acceleration off, AMD Acceleration on, AMD Acceleration off)
- I've tested this problem with a plethora of video files: 20GB mkv files, WebM files, Internet streams, my webcam, etc, and nothing changes (works flawlessly in full-screen, freeze in normal/floating mode)
- This doesn't happen in Firefox, same video files works without any problem in all modes (even with acceleration off), and to me this one is the biggest red flag.

Thank you in advance for your time arch folks!
