[Solved] Carbon X1 Key material

I have a new work laptop (not running Arch), but this is about the hardware of the Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 5 machines.

The keyboard layout is quite different to what I am used to in one respect: bottom left has the Fn key outside the Ctrl key and, out of muscle memory I keep hitting the outermost key thinking it is Ctrl and then nothing happens...

I do not want to rebind the keys.

I was thinking of adding some texture to the FN key so I would be aware it was not the Ctrl key, much like F and J are differentiated.

My question: would a drop of something like nail polish on the key damage the plastic? Or should I consider other options?
