grub-emu

i stumbled on this command while searching for something that would allow me to preview grub.cfg changes without rebooting. 

executing the command grub-emu shows command not found

looking in the .PKGINFO file in grub-2:2.04-5-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst,  i see a reference to provides grub-emu

maybe it's just obsolete?
