I am running into this weird problem, where everything (YouTube videos, games, etc.) slows down heavily, to the point of being unwatchable/unplayable when the internal speakers are being used. If I turn off sound on a video, or turn the sound off in game, FPS will pick up again, and the laptop is more usable instantly. Once turned back on, things grind to a halt visually.
Funniest thing is, sound and videos/video games work beautifully if I plug in headphones into the headphone jack. It's like a "slow it down" plug. If I unplug it, things slow down, I plug it in, things speed up. I can repeat that a million times. There seem to be no spikes in CPU or ram usage (htop doesn't show anything out of the order) as I do this.
I run into the problem running on the internal Intel gpu, and on Nvidia's (using optimus manager).
Any ideas what it could be? I googled, I tried to search the wiki, and this forum but found nothing close to my problem.
Some info:
HP Probook 450 G6, running on 5.6.4-zen1-1-zen (though gets same problem with current LTS and CK). Lightdm, Xfce4. alsa lib 1.2.2-1, lib32-alsa 1.2.2-1.
I appreciate any and all help anyone is willing to offer.

This problem still persists for me.
Switched to KDE Plasma, last update was 20 Minutes ago. Just wanted to bring this to attention to some of the pros here, maybe someone has an idea.
