Hello,
so for a few months I've been having the issue of firefox freezing when switching to fullscreen. It mostly occurs when I want to watch some video in fullscreen, though it also happens when I fullscreenize the window using the windomw manager (i3 btw). It happens whether or not I have picom/compton running as compositor in the background. The audio will still work, and the mouse pointer will react (i.e. by changing to the "hand pointer" when the mouse hovers over a link (or rather over a place where there would be a link if the rendering would not have frozen). As soon as I end the fullscreen, it unfreezes.
I noticed it very sporadically in other applications, but could not detect a pattern. My graphics card is the intel inbuilt one (UHD Graphics 630 (Coffeelake 3x8 GT2))
Note that chromium works flawlessly, but I don't really want to use it.
Do you have any idea what causes this freezing and what might undo it.

Is xf86-video-intel installed? Remove it and any configuration for it if you've made any and retry.
