XFCE4 Network Shares icons not showing on desktop

It's frustrating because I'm not new to Arch.

Everything is working fine.
External SD are showing.
SMB is working fine in Thunar

I can't get desktop to show network shares once mounted...

Here is an upstream bug report that I filed a few years back regarding this issue. Network shares defined in fstab display on the desktop.
