libffi compat pacage for libffi.so.6 ?

Hi,

I run some 3rd party software that I cannot rebuild. It's looking for libffi.so.6.
I gather that libffi recently updated and now the libffi package provides only
libffi.so.7.

Is there some sort of compatibility package available that provides libffi.so.6?
Or, does anyone have plans for one?

If not, I might try it, although I have not created any pacman packages previously.

The real question is why you posted here rather than taking the 5 seconds it would have taken to check for yourself.

Well, evidently I don't know how to check.
I did do the following search

    https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/?SeB=n&K=compat

and it shows 43 packages, but none of them seemed to involve libffi.
How should I have looked for it?

Are you serious?  So you know where the search page for the aur is, but rather than search for the name of the package you are interested in, you put in a generic adjective that could apply to any package but may or may not be applied to the one you are interested in?

When you find yourself in a huge hole, put down the shovel.

Hint: you're interested in libffi, put "libffi" into the search tool.

For what it is worth, searching by Name Only in the AUR appears to be the way to find this one.
