Hi
I have an onboard spdif audio out.I connect it to my receiver using an optical cable/Using cinnamon with arch lts 5.4.35-1-lts. The option i get for sound profile output is Digital stereo IEC958.All i want is the spdif out to pass undecoded audio to the receiver. When it does that depending on the stream the DTS or Dolby would go on and it will do the decoding. But there seems no way to do it.The receiver always get PCM .Is there any way to do it or is it just cinnamon?I have alsa installed and im forcing vlc to use spdif pass.So vlc would be alright.
Tried this with the latest kernel 5.6.7 . Nothing seems to work.
Pls help me.I dont care if i have to move away from connamon.Audio is more important to me than display. Thanks in advance.
The outpu of aPlay -L is. The spdif is listed in the end.

Please wrap that in [ code ] [ /code ] tags.
You can enable formats that should be passed through unencoded in pavucontrol and ticking the relevant boxes under the advanced heading for the digital sink.
See this post and thread for some further information on how to configure this: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 1#p1886141
