Hello, this is my first post in the arch forums. I've used arch for some time but never come across a problem i couldn't solve until now. Hopefully someone can aid in my troubleshooting.
The problem:
I have no sound from neither speakers nor headphones. Pavucontrol however detects when i plug and unplug headphones. It also visually indicates that sound reaches the speakers, and the function keys for sound works in controlling the levels. But never the less, no sound actually reaches the speakers.
My environment:
I'm running arch and windows 10 in dualboot.
The related packages that i have installed are: alsa-utils, pulseaudio, pulseaudio-alsa, pavucontrol.
I'm using xfce.
I'm on an Asus Zenbook UX480FD
The output of lspci -nn is:

What I've tried:
(not necessarily in order)
Updated the system.
I tried using the lts-kernel.
I tried running alsactl init
I tried running alsactl restore.
I tried uninstalling pulseaudio with all associated software, followed by testing of the speakers via speaker-test.
I tried looking at the output of
sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*
, nothing seems unusual. Result:
USER PID ACCESS COMMAND
/dev/snd/controlC0: myname 837 F.... pulseaudio
/dev/snd/controlC1: myname 837 F.... pulseaudio
/dev/snd/pcmC0D0p: myname 837 F...m pulseaudio
Possible hints:
When I have the headphones plugged in, and mute/unmute them I hear an associated clicking.
Help is appreciated. I will also continue troubleshooting myself and post should i find a solution.

I have tracked down the problem to the extent that I will now mark this thread as solved. It had to do with windows not properly turning off. This is despite windows having fastboot disabled. If you have the same problems as I do, and want to rule out Windows do the following (in windows):
Boot into Windows
Press the startmenu button
Hold down shift
Press the off button
Press "shutdown"
Boot back into Arch
Should I find a way to make Windows and Arch work better on the same drive, I will edit this post to include that information. This seems to be extra prominent in Asus ZenBooks, as I've read about someone else having the same problem with a ZenBook UX430.

Yeah that can always be a factor, FWIW this might be fixable from linux by invoking a
sudo alsactl init
to let it reinit the soundcard registers.
