[SOLVED]Xkb keyboard settings "Refuse" to listen to conf file

Hello I have a problem with my 00-keyboard.conf not working (location /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ )
Checking the log files I couldn't figure out if too many devices where listed as keyboard and so the conf file loaded for the wrong device or if the file didn't load at all,i tried changing 00-keyboard.conf adding one more language(greek) but it didnt register it at all after reboot so my idea is that X loads the wrong "default" file but i cannot pinpoint where it is

I tried renaming my conf to .old but the output o setxkbmap -print -verbose 10 remained the same whatever changed I tried to do after reboot same output, either way editing evdev file is an imposibility since I have no idea how to do that,to me it looks more like a meta file rather than config file and I cant find any explanation on it

What Im really trying to do is remove all languages(us in particular) and replace then with only one( gb/Great Britain doe to the layout)

All files on my GDrive since I don't know how to upload files on the forum

If anyone can figure out why or maybe how this is happening and give me a headsup that would be highly appreciated

Final :
For any other users looking at this post for answers,I learned that there quite a few reasons that can cause a layout change,this thread is not long so scanning through it to find a solution wont take you long and its better than me explaining with my limited knowledge diluting the information, the final answer for me was....Gnome settings -.-

What are you trying to do ? Put gb layout , on a graphical enviromment ?

Please post the outputs of `setxkbmap -query` and `localectl`.

The docs suggest that you must have as many variants listed as you have layouts. There is no caveat noted for not specifying any variants (thus its slightly ambiguous whether listing variants is required). But if the default variants setting is a single default, then it might fail to apply the layouts as there are mismatching numbers of layouts / variants. Try adding `Option "XkbVariant" ","` then post the output of the first two commands again.

Both uploaded on GDrive, i also uploaded the simple script i use to change keyboards every time, ( setxkbmap -layout gb &>/dev/null )

Edit: also redilocalectl and rediquerty uploaded,they are the output after i put Option "XkbVariant" "," in there

Im sorry if i confused you,im trying to remove the us keyboard layout and let only the gb one, the gr(eek) one i have in my files is one i have put only for (extra)to figure out why the configs dont work, still every time i boot my computer the main layout is us which is annoying becuase running the script through .xinitrc or /etc/lightdm/Xsession dosent work

Uploaded a few more relevant files most .x files are from ~ except Xsession from /etc/lightdm/Xsession

Please post short command outputs here in code tags. Google drive is not a good means of sharing command output as we are required to navigate the page, find oddly named files, and download them to our system just to see one or two lines of text output. Help us help you.

Long outputs and large logs are best on sites like those recommended in the wiki, though google drive is ok for these if needed. It's definitely not suitable for outputs of just a few lines.

The layout is probably overridden by your session or lightdm.
Take both out of the equation and see (setxkbmap) what happens for "startx xterm", boot the multi-user.target for this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sy … _boot_into
If that gets you the desired result, try starting eg. an openbox or icewm session from lightdm and on the other side your preferred session type through xinitrc, https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xinit#xinitrc (pay attention to the notes!)

That...was a timewaster ,Im sorry for that, turns out neither lightdm's nor X's fault rather than gnome default settings...I had...to go to settings keyboard layout...It was all gnomes fault, Im sorry for wasting your time on this ,in my defense I couldnt figure out what it was since i installed arch ,scanning through config files looking up the wiki for help,i thought gnome listened to default computer settings when installed

PS:I think il change gnome-session to something else in the future,this user friendliness caused me an unwarranted headache I didn't expect to get from a friendly layout
