which daemon monitor?

I'm looking for a daemon monitor that can restart daemons that have, for whatever reason, stopped.

So far I've looked at daemon tools and monit. Can anyone recommend or share experiences with using any of these tools so I can make a more informed decision.

I'm in the process of trying to figure out why mythbackend keeps failing on me but in the meantime I would like to keep it monitored and running while i'm <shiver>at work</shiver>
