Varmilo Bluetooth Keyboard

Hi,

I am having a very hard time getting my Varmilo keyboard to work over bluetooth, upon entering the passcode and completing the pair I am unable to type anything. When connected over USB it functions perfectly. Additionally, this bluetooth functionality works fine with Windows.

Neither KDE's built in bluetooth module or bluetoothctl implementation have been successful, see below me interacting with bluetoothctl:

[root@fuark kerenua]# bluetoothctl
Agent registered
[bluetooth]# power on
Changing power on succeeded
[bluetooth]# agent KeyboardOnly
Agent is already registered
[bluetooth]# default-agent
Default agent request successful
[bluetooth]# pairable on
Changing pairable on succeeded
[bluetooth]# scan on

Both the keyboard and bluetoothctl agree that they are paired, the keyboards onboard LED is solid to indicate this, but is still unusable. Odd.

How should I proceed? Are there any logs or debugging steps I can take? I like this keyboard very much, and will continue to use in USB mode if there is no alternative -- but would greatly prefer the bluetooth functionality.

Thanks!

Re: Varmilo Bluetooth Keyboard

Hi,

I'm sorry that I cannot help you but I want to push this thread, because I have the same issue.

I was already able to pair the device several times on two different Arch systems. It was not necessary to type in a pass code. It just worked after some attempts to pair/connect.

The keyboard then workds without problems over bluetooth!

But after a disconnect (because of a reboot) it is not possible anymore. Even If I removed the device etc ... I also tried every of the 3 bt channels.

BTW: I tried it with 3 different bluetooth dongles. Same problem everywhere.

Sometimes it works after 50 to 100 tries. Really annoying.

Kind regards.
