System freezes and montitors turn off

At the moment my System freezes at random time intervals. I use the linux-lts kernel with the nvidia-lts module for my GTX 960. What could cause or fix this problem?

Re: System freezes and montitors turn off

a) check you memory e.g. with memtest.
b) run a cpu stress test
c) check smart values on HDD/SSD - https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/S.M.A.R.T.
c) replace nvidia-lts module with https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Nouveau
