Cinnamon panel is not showing in user account other than root

Hi,

my linux box has been updated so now cinnamon versions are:

  cinnamon 4.6.1-1
  cinnamon-control-center 4.6.0-1
  cinnamon-desktop 4.6.0-1
  cinnamon-menus 4.2.0-1
  cinnamon-screensaver 4.6.0-1
  cinnamon-session 4.6.0-1
  cinnamon-settings-daemon 4.6.0-1
  cinnamon-translations 4.6.0-1

After rebooting the system, I found that cinnamon desktop went to fallback mode.
I got only background image and some icons on desktop.
running cinnamon-settings applets showed that something went wrong with the default applets like calendar, keyboard, menu, etc and would not load correctly.

I have tried some workarounds like removing *.pyc, removing .config/dconf or .config/menus but had no success.
I also made a new user for clean account but got the same situation.
However, after logging with root, cinnamon worked correctly including applets.

journalctl -b -p 0..3 did not show something about cinnamon.

so my guess is on access right because root account is working but no clue.
It would be highly appreciated for advice.

Re: Cinnamon panel is not showing in user account other than root

If you can get a terminal, try running this command to get a better error message:

DISPLAY=:0 cinnamon --replace

This will restart cinnamon in the foreground of that terminal window, and it'll write its log messages to your session. You may be able to see some more-relevant logs that way.
