PCMCIA card problem

Hi everybody.
I've just bought a PCMCIA to USB 2 adapter for my old laptop. It says VIA on a sticker.
However, after plugging it in, I tried a usb mouse and a pendrive and none are recognized. I can not find pcmcia-related commands in Arch.

"lspci" lists :
USB Controller: VIA Technologies

(3 instances, 2 USB 1.1 and one 2.0)

Where do I go from here? Searching the forums give me no useful info.
Thanx in advance

Re: PCMCIA card problem

pcmciautils package was removed from repos around june 2018, see https://lists.archlinux.org/pipermail/a … 29270.html .

It doesn't look like someone added it to AUR, but you could try building it yourself.

The necessary files for the last version before it was dropped are at https://git.archlinux.org/svntogit/pack … ed8b68a812

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
