Bluetooth headset doesn't pair; authentication times out

I've been trying to get my bluetooth headset to pair with my laptop, but somehow the pairing doesn't seem to work.

I installed the necessary packages for PulseAudio and Bluetooth according to the wiki pages: pulseaudio, pulseaudio-alsa, pulseaudio-bluetooth, bluez, and bluez-utils. I also installed plasma-pa and bluedevil, since I am running KDE.

Audio on a wired headset and through the speakers works without a problem, as does pairing and connecting a smartphone.

However, when I try to pair the headset, I get the following in bluetoothctl:

[bluetooth]# pair E8:07:BF:6C:66:3A
Attempting to pair with E8:07:BF:6C:66:3A
Failed to pair: org.bluez.Error.AuthenticationTimeout

I tried restarting bluetoothd in debug mode as mentioned in https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Bl … #Debugging, and tried to pair again through Bluedevil.

I recorded the output, which you can see at https://pastebin.com/feniPtrT. I don't know if this is helpful, but I added comments at approximately the times I clicked to add a new device (starting scanning), starting the pairing process and closing the pairing window.

For PulseAudio, I'm using the default configuration, but in case it's helpful, here is the output of pacmd info: https://pastebin.com/CRX9fNyH

I'd be happy to provide any other information that may be useful - thanks.
