Waybar - deactivate/comment out modules

Hi

I want to minimize the CPU usage.

What is the proper way to deactivate modules in waybar. I don't want to delete the moduls in case I need them in another time.

I commented the moduls out in the config section:

 "modules-left": [...],      
 "modules-center": [...]
 "modules-right": [...]

if the actual modules are not commented out in the config beneath the above arrays, does the CPU still use cycles according to the intervals in the moduls to update them?
