HDMI Ports Listed as DP on Thinkpad Dock

Hi,

I have a ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Dock Gen 2 and just noticed that the HDMI ports are listed as DP via xrandr but they work.

This seems like a bug to me. Any ideas?

Thank you!

P.s. I thought that xrandr just lists what is really possible on that setup. Nevertheless I can't run the 60 fps 4k on my HDMI cable. Is this an on-the-edge case regarding the quality of the cable or should this not be listed at all?

Thunderbolt only supports DisPlayPort , your dock probably has Thinderbolt3-to-hdmi adapters built in.

Some videocards can provide 4k @30 Hz over hdmi , but have trouble with 4k @60 Hz, which videocard / integrated GPU do you have ?

Also suppport for 4k @ 60 really needs HDMI 2 or better support on both sides (HDMI 1.3 - 1.4 has very limited support for it, earlier versions have none)

Which HDMI version does your screen support ?

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
