pacserve does not appear to see other machine

I have two machines with archlinux on them. In the past I successfully used pacserve to install packages without downloading the twice. Now, it does not appear to work anymore, the package always gets downloaded from the net. What I have tried:

sudo sysctl net.ipv4.icmp_echo_ignore_broadcasts=0
ping 224.0.0.1 -c 3

Result: multicast appears functional, both machines see the other one.

starting /usr/bin/pacserve --multicast in a terminal and get the result.

In the client (the machine where I want to install the package firefox):

The client always redirects to the external server http://ftp.nluug.nl/os/Linux/distr/arch … kg.tar.zst but I have checked that the other machine has the package. Moreover it does not seem to react.

I am clueless how to debug this further...

Re: pacserve does not appear to see other machine

pacserve was recently updated , are you using 2020-1 ?

You may get better response if you post this in the dedicated pacserve thread, https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=117094

Multi-init booting with apg Openrc and systemd coexisting
Automounting : not needed, i prefer pmount
Aur helpers : makepkg + my own local repo === rarely need them

Re: pacserve does not appear to see other machine

Thank you. This is due to my modem/router. Plugging an old one and the problem disappear (but it cannot be a permanent solution, I need the new one to connect to my ISP). But I will post in the dedicated forum.
