Icon themes not working properly

So I have noticed an issue while trying to customize my desktop and change my icon theme. Some icons don't take effect properly. To be more specific, I change my icon theme to flat remix, then I go to my downloads directory. I have some files including some swf (shock wave flash) files. But then I see that those swf files have the icons of a normal video. And yes, flat remix icon theme has an icon for every kind of flash files. I even checked the icon theme's directory. But it's not just with flat remix, I even tried vibrancy colors icon theme and even that icon theme had the same problem. Although vibrancy colors' latest update was in 2016. I'm using gnome 3.36.3 on wayland and adwaita as my shell and my gtk theme (if that even helps). Is this a problem with gnome? Or is it with the icon theme itself? Or is it something else? If anyone knows anything, I'm all ears for them (or rather all eyes).

Re: Icon themes not working properly

I'm sorry for answering late and I don't have that much knowledge but my problem is not with the cursor themes.

Re: Icon themes not working properly

^ I don't see how this has got anything to do with your problem either.

But you don't give us much to work with:
- does this happen with ALL icon themes that have specific SWF icons?
- if not, which, and how did you install them?

It could be that SWF video is not recognized by your filemanager, full stop.
Could have many reasons. Mimetype associations maybe?
Also a `file -i asdasdasd.swf` on a specific file might help.
