Zoom screen sharing makes Xorg use high CPU

Hi, I have a problem with the Zoom application. The application itself works fine (I have a ~20 seconds lag when connecting or disconnecting a webcam, but that's no big deal).
Screen sharing by itself also works fine; the problem is that, while I'm sharing, once I open and close the "More..." menu on the sharing settings, Xorg starts using lots of CPU and everything on the screen starts lagging.
This is the button I'm talking about: https://imgur.com/OpkigK9
I used the latest Linux kernel before, now I've switched to LTS but I have the same problem. GPU is NVidia with the proprietary drivers.
I've tested this on GNOME, KDE Plasma and Awesome.
Thanks for any help.

Re: Zoom screen sharing makes Xorg use high CPU

Sorry for bumping this old thread, but since it's had no response I'd rather do this than make a new identical one. Is there anyone who knows how to fix this problem?
I know for sure it has to do with NVidia, because that kind of lag also happens in other places, although it usually stops after a few seconds.
