Re: 'yaourt -Syuu' doesn't work

Looks like it worked fine, but why are you using yaourt at all, and how have you broken your packages so badly?

Mod note: moving to AUR Issues

Re: 'yaourt -Syuu' doesn't work

I remember reading something about yaourt being discontinued,on github the yaourt repo says: unmaintained. Aur helpers aren't supported by Arch Linux,
but if you are going to be using one I would at least use one that is still being maintained.

When did you last update your system? xproto was removed on Feb 2018

Yaourt has long been unsupported, proposing to switch to yay or trizen.

Re: 'yaourt -Syuu' doesn't work

While I like to take every opportunity to criticise problematic AUR helpers, yaourt realy has nothing to do with the issue in this thread.  Yaourt simply passed the parameters on to pacman, and pacman failed.

Pacman failed because of several reasons we can only get a hint at: one file is own by multiple packages, some packages are several years out of date.

ruudi170, if you return here, please post your complete pacman log either in code tags or as a link to a file sharing cite.

Trizen is much, much, much worse than yaourt.

As Trilby said, this really has nothing to do with AUR helpers. The first thing any AUR helper does when give the options '-Syu' is run 'pacman -Syuu', which failed.

pacman -Syuu is definitely not an AUR helper.

@ruudi170,

Please run 'pacman -Syuu', witness that it is broken, then edit the first post of this thread and exchange the word "yaourt" for "pacman" in the thread title.
